- What is an iCal file?
- An iCal file is a plain-text calendar file that follows the iCalendar standard (RFC 5545). It describes events — titles, dates, times, locations, reminders and repeat rules — in a format that virtually every calendar app understands.
- What is an .ICS file?
- .ICS is the file extension used for iCalendar files. When you open one, your calendar app reads the events inside and offers to add them to your calendar. iCalCreate generates standards-compliant .ICS files.
- Can I use this with Google Calendar?
- Yes. Download your .ICS file, then in Google Calendar go to Settings → Import & export → Import and select the file. For single events you can also use the Add to Google Calendar button after creating your event.
- Does this work with Apple Calendar?
- Yes. On a Mac, iPhone or iPad, opening the downloaded .ICS file starts the normal calendar import flow so you can choose which calendar to add it to. iCalCreate never connects to your Apple account.
- Does this work with Outlook?
- Yes. In Outlook, choose File → Open & Export → Import/Export → Import an iCalendar (.ics) file, or simply double-click the downloaded file.
- Can I create multiple events in one file?
- Yes. Switch to Multiple Events, add as many events as you need, and iCalCreate produces one .ICS file containing every event — perfect for itineraries, cruises, conferences and school schedules.
- Can I create recurring events?
- Yes. Choose daily, weekly, monthly or yearly repeats, or build a custom rule with an interval, specific weekdays, and an end date or number of occurrences. iCalCreate writes a proper RRULE for you.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There is no signup, no login and no email required. Fill in your event, press Create iCal and your file downloads immediately.
- Does iCalCreate store my calendar data?
- No. Calendars you create or import are processed entirely in your browser. An unfinished draft may be kept in your browser's local storage on your own device, and you can clear it at any time with Clear draft.
- Can I edit an existing iCal file?
- Yes. Go to Import .ICS, drop in your file, and every event appears as an editable card. Change titles, dates, times, locations and descriptions, add or remove events, then download the updated .ICS.
